Millcreek City Hall

The Heart of Millcreek: Creating a 106,000-Square-Foot ‘Vertical Village’

The Millcreek City Hall stands as a landmark civic project, serving as the functional heart of a rapidly growing community. This 106,000-square-foot vertical village is designed to be more than just a government building; it is a multi-use hub that integrates public commerce, law enforcement, and local governance. Completed in 2023, the structure serves as a centerpiece for the Millcreek Common, utilizing mass timber to reflect a commitment to sustainability and modern aesthetics.

Engineering a Landmark: How CLT, GLT, and Structural Framing Built a Six-Story Civic Hub

The six-story building features a sophisticated Hybrid Mass Timber system, utilizing a blend of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) and Glue-Laminated Timber (GLT) alongside structural steel or concrete elements. This choice of materials allows for a warm, biophilic interior while providing the structural integrity required for a high-occupancy public building.
